Let me share with all of you what happened to me.
Driver side door not opening from inside.
Slide the door panel up to clear the window opening and door lock button and remove it.
After determining that i could not get the inside panel pulled back far enough to get my hand in to try and release the latch i had to cut the inside door panel in half to get access to the lock.
Damaged handle cable or rod.
I can unlock my car door to get in but once in i cant get out of my driver side door.

I hope it s not an electric control handle but it sounds like a rod or lever inside the door has disconnected plastic clip holds rod in mechanisms and or levers that operate the door you ll have to remove the inside door panel to check this out or take it to a body shop they may have experience this problem before also some debris may have jammed mechanism another thought is the.
The entire lock system may be working properly and you still find your door not opening from inside or outside.
This is not the same as deadlock.
This is usually only on one side either the inside handle won t open the door or the outside handle won t open the door but the other one will work fine.
What could be wrong and ho read more.
I had the drivers door lock and could not open it from either side.
This can be opened from the outside just not inside.
Hi i have a nissan micra 04 plate.
Unplug any power window switches and courtesy lights.
Roll the window down and carefully push the door panel away at the top right above the latch rear of door then look down inside the door at the latch and figure out which rod fell of the latch.
There will either be a screw in the center of the handle or a retaining clip on the back side of the handle.
